COVINGTON – Covington senior Elizabeth Coblentz gave so much of her time to help out the Buccaneer football team over the past few years and her generosity was at an amazing level.

Covington has a strong tradition where people give so much of themselves to benefit others within the community and in the school system. It’s all about the love of Covington that runs deep in the heart of those who give.

In regards to Covington athletics, community members who are givers are why there is an outstanding weight room, a high level wrestling building, a track, a traditionally elite painted football field, and a recently constructed softball field.

Elizabeth Coblentz is in the same mold as she goes above and beyond what is expected from anyone to give what she has given of herself. Individually, her sport is softball and she has been a key contributor to her teammates over the past three years. But, Coblentz has contributed greatly to a sport she hasn’t been able to play – football.

“For those people who don’t know, Elizabeth comes to practice every single day and helps get stuff ready – if it’s water bottles, practice things, pads, and then she does film every day with the drone,” said Covington coach Austin Morgan. “She does whatever odds and ends are needed on the field. She does a huge amount of what is needed.”

Now, Coblentz isn’t alone giving of herself as she has drawn interest from two additional Covington students to help as well – Caliegh Gilpin and Emalyn Johnson. Both have followed Coblentz’s footsteps in helping the football program.

“We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done over the last couple of years,” Morgan said to Coblentz during the final BuccsReport edition of the 2024 football season.

Also, over the past couple of years Coblentz has been the primary leader of the BuccsReport, which is a weekly editions where she interviews Coach Morgan and several players. Her personality and funny questions in specific times has made the weekly editions very entertaining.

THANK YOU ELIZABETH COBLENTZ FOR YOUR IMPACT IN COVINGTON!
